02 Project overview
A local configuration tool
Codex Provider Switcher is a local configuration tool for switching Codex providers and models. It is available as the Rust CLI cps and a Tauri 2 macOS desktop app; it does not run as a proxy, hosted service, or always-on gateway.
The current public release is v0.1.0. Its universal macOS DMG supports Apple Silicon and Intel, is ad-hoc signed, and is not notarized.

04 Implementation
Transactional local changes
The cps CLI is written in Rust. The macOS desktop application uses Tauri 2 and provides the same provider and model switching workflow through a native interface. Supported providers include OpenAI, Ollama, LM Studio, DeepSeek, xAI, and OpenRouter.
Configuration changes are written atomically, checked for conflicts, and paired with a recovery backup. CPS-managed direct-provider credentials can be stored in macOS Keychain; Doctor performs local diagnostics, and Restore recovers from the backup.
The v0.1.0 universal DMG targets Apple Silicon and Intel Macs. It is ad-hoc signed and has not been notarized.
